253. Naftali Bamberger, Der judische Friedhof in Schmieheim, 263 Vol 1.
Grave 17/13 of Mosche Dreifuss (Moses Dreifuss), son of Abraham matches that of Abraham Dreifuss’es son Moses from his marriage with Marianne Gundelfinger It says Moses was married to Rebecca (Rivka) nee Kassewitz. I didn’t know where the name Braendel came from since it is not referenced. But I found out that I copied it from Dad’s blue book (without the source). I suspect that his wife was known as Rebecca or Rivka and so added these names. Rebecca’s grave is Grave 23/5.
Grave 23/5 is that of Rebecca Dreifuss nee Kassewitz
died 29 Feb 1848 in Schmieheim
born around 1783
her father was Hiessel Salomon Kassewitz, Handelsmann
her mother was Giddel ) Loebin) Levi

See reference 571
256. Der Judische Friedhof in Schmieheim lists her as Zerle Zerlin Weil buried in row 9 grave 26 (see page 137 in volume 1). Her husband was Leser and she died 14 September 1878 in Kippenheim
The book also give the SB Kippenheim #7270 reference:
Sara (Charlotte) Weil born in Altdorf around 1800 and married to Lazarus Weil, Schutz- und Handelsjude, Viehhandler, verst.
257. Der Judische Friedhof in Schmieheim, Bamberger, Row 9/26 page 137 gives birth um 1800.

Greetings,

I thought that I would make contact, for our family trees touch in at least one place. I found another on-line source which reports your Zerle Dreifuss to have married on 11 Jun 1840 in Kippenheim my Lazarus/Lippmann/Leser Weil b. Abt. 1793 Kippenheim d. 09 Jul 1869 Kippenheim. Zerle was indeed a female, his second wife,
the first being Sara/Sehrle Frank. I know of 7 children from the first marriage, none from Zerle.

The site I found is in German, here are the notes they provide:

Notes for Sara/Zierle/Zerle/Zerlin/Charlotte Dreifuss: Jüd. Friedhof
Schmieheim Grab 9/26; OSB Kippenheim 7270

Notes for Lazarus/Lippmann/Leser Weil: Schutz- u. Handelsjude
Kippenheim; Viehhändler Kippenheim; Jüd. Friedhof Schmieheim
Grab 14/16; OSB Kippenheim Jüd. Friedhof Schmieheim Grab 14/16;
OSB Kippenheim 7268,7270; OSB Altdorf 4218

I believe these are sources of data, and occupation...looks like
he handled livestock. I haven't yet done all of the notes I found,
but usually find that these are references to lists of Jews.
AltaVista's babelfish is a great tool.

By the way, the site I refer to is:

http://juden-in-baden.online.de/NKJehuda.html

I am fairly confident that our tree is more intertwined, and
would be interested to know about other unions you have with
the Weil family...it is fairly well documented back to 1360.
Unfortunately I can't connect with Dusette/Duset/Dosel/Tusel
/Roset Weil...there are lots of Weils.

Hopefully this helps.

Sincerely,
Andy Castle

262. Spelling from OSB, Altdorf
263. ‘Um’ or approx. 1809 according to OSB. I am not sure where Dad got the 30 Nov 1806 date.
264. 1778 birth was from record obtained somewhere by Leonard Dreifuss. Born 1772 according to Stan Bernheim's records and circa 1777 according to Peter of Germany. Schmieheim OSB (copy in my files) also shows birth as ca 1777 for Salomon Bernheimer. See reference 184.
265. born ca 1784 and died 20 Apr 1851 according to Peter of Germany. He also had her dying in Schmieheim. According to Schmieheim Cemetery Book Row 21 Grave 22 she died 20 April 1851 This book references the OSB Schmieheim as well and parenthetically gives her name as Rosette
I also had a 16 Apr 1864 date for her death from unknown source which may have been an error on my part.

269. From Rosanne D. Leeson. Birthday also given in OSB Schmieheim under no. 2016 for Leopold Bernheim (see ref no 186).
Rosanne has Fanny's name only as Fanny Dreyfuss. OSB Schmieheim lists it as Friederike (Fanny) Dreifuß (see ref 184) but her father (Bernhard) gave his name as Dreyfuß.
