Our genealogical skills developed over many years of work with experts from around the world learning  traditional as well as internet methods. We learned many foibles of "internet genealogy", including the ease of publishing data that has not been scrutinized for accuracy and sometimes not researched but copied from a family tree on a site which has been published for profit, such as Ancestry.com and Geni.com. Unfortunately these companies care more about profit than they do for the integrity of genealogical information.  Although we have greatly benefited from sharing information two ways with other genealogists, we have always been plagued by amateurs who cannot share accurate information or their sources, but they redistribute information and photos that may not be accurate like viruses.

 

Rationale for Our Privacy Policy and Password Protection

We conduct genealogy as professionals pursuing historical accuracy using scientific methods of gathering facts, developing and testing theories. We use perhaps the best genealogical software platform available which allows us to reference painstakingly virtually everything we accept so that it can always be retested. We do not accept nor do we share information provided by anyone who is not family or is a serious researcher without some basis to believe the information. Even then its source is recorded as to contain some measure of doubt.

 

Please understand that to gain access to our information you are required to agree to our Privacy Policy below. We are happy to exchange information with serious individuals who wish to explore connections between our respective families, but not on living people or on certain individuals who have asked us not to divulge information on them.

 

Password Access

User names and passwords to our Genealogies link will be provided to all family members and serious collaborators agreed to by either Pete or Jeff Dreifuss. If you are a serious researcher but not family or an established collaborator but still wish to collaborate or browse the family please contact us to explain why you would like access. We have in many cases provided researchers with information in another format. To meet our own goals we expect those with an interest in our records are willing to share information. Please note that although we try, we cannot respond to every request that we receive, if you don't provide an explanation of your desire for access.
